New Ref Desk Blog

Math Tutoring Lab

On the Math Tutoring Lab Webpage are tutor schedules, hours, general lab information, photos, FAQs etc.

Scanners

If the scanner station computer needs to be restarted, the scanner itself must be turned off during the restart and then turned on after the restart is complete.

"Recent Issues"

You may have noticed the field "Recent Issues" appearing at the bottom of each and every holdings record in the Voyager catalog, like so:

Recent Issues:

"Recent Issues" is a field that should only be on serials records, but it's showing up on all records - monographs, AV, Ebooks, etc.

According to Manoa, this is a glitch that comes and goes. It does not mean that everything has become a serial that we will now be checking in. It should go away one day, either with the upgrade to 7.0 or with an interim patch.

If a patron notices it, just tell them to ignore it.

Computer Access for Pac. Is. Group

Aloha,

On Thursday, January 8, I did a tour for a special group of 10 Pacific Islands students who will be here at UHH for only one semester. There is some confusion about getting them computer access. For now, if a student comes to the desk and identifies as being part of the Professional Internship Program* group, please use the mookini login for them.
